                                Geoff                                                       John

John Chalmers and Geoffrey Dent each has over 35 years experience in both Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy in both Academic and Industrial environments. Their experiences cover a wide range of applications including Agrochemicals, Colours, Fine Chemicals, Polymers and Pharmaceuticals. They have been involved in developing techniques and applications for laboratory, at-line and on-line analysis and in the provision of Regulatory data. They have an extensive, global network of contacts within the vibrational spectroscopy and associated communities. Geoff and John have recently organised a number of in house training courses for a range of organisations and companies, both in the UK and continental Europe, as well numerous IRDG spectra interpretation courses.

John Chalmers

VS Consulting

John retired from ICI plc after 34 years of experience in Infrared and Raman spectroscopy of Polymers. He set up VS Consulting and has developed an extensive advisory network. He maintains contact with the developing frontiers of the technique through close links with Nottingham University and as a former Chairman of the UK IRDG. John is a member of the board of the Society of Applied Spectroscopy (SAS).

Geoffrey Dent

GD Analytical Consulting

Geoff retired from ICI/Zeneca/Avecia after 30 years of experience in Infrared and Raman spectroscopy. The chemistries encountered included agrochemical intermediates, biocides, colours, inorganics and minerals, mines extractants, pharmaceuticals, peptides and proteins, polyurethanes, silicones, and general debris. He currently is associated with the University of Manchester and is an IRDG committee member
